The love story of EJ and TJ :
We were put on a blind date by a distant acquaintance (she will be at the wedding). Both of us were not expecting to have dinner with our soon to be future partners. But we took a chance anyways. We met at La Grolla for dinner-- shared food, wine and stories. We didn't want it to end so we walked on Summit looking at the historic homes on a chilly October night as we stopped at the Grand Ol' Creamery for dessert. After our 2nd date TJ (Tyler John) made up a hashtag #adventuresofeeejandteej. This stuck with us... every date, cooked dinners and experiences together we put it in our own little digital photo book. It's funny...his family refers to him as TJ and my family refers to me as EJ (Erika Jean)... it's our little love language.
6 months later we were engaged--He proposed to me at St. Kates after mass on Sunday afternoon and we celebrated at Salut on Grand with our immediate family. Drinks, tears, food and laughter filled that quiet room. Both parents and siblings were so happy that we found one another. Later that night we wanted to share a moment together for a celebratory Manhattan at the St. Paul Grill. Just me and him.
We are now living right off of Grand in St. Paul and truly love this city and often take the same 'stroll' as we did on our first date. I would say that St. Paul is where we started our journey together. All the unique restaurants, character of the city and landmarks we've experienced together has made an impact on us as a couple and will be ever kept in our hearts.
What made you chose your venues?
St. Kate's is where I went to school and where he proposed.
St. Paul Hotel/Grill is where we both as kids would go and celebrate big events. Tyler's grandpa David would always treat him to Wild Rice Soup while we would take a road trip to the Grill for a VERY special occasion.
We also shared a cocktail after our engagement--We knew this was a special place for us and wanted to have this stunning St. Paul Landmark part of our memory for the biggest celebration of all--- our wedding.
Did you have any Do it Yourself {DIY} projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?
My sister took off the flower of the bridesmaid dress and put a man's bow-tie instead. She wanted to make the dresses more updated and classic. She's VERY creative and wanted to make this dress her own!! :)
